The GMX Mail App (often referred to as the Mailnotifier due to its built-in instant push alerts) provides real-time notifications and full mobile access to your email and cloud storage. You can set it up for free on both Android and iOS devices.

Here is how to get the application configured and running on your device: 📥 Initial App Installation

Open the Google Play Store on Android or the App Store on an iPhone or iPad. Search for “GMX Mail & Cloud” and tap Install. Launch the app once the download finishes. 🔐 Account Login & Setup

Enter your complete GMX email address and your account password. Tap Login.

Optional: The app will ask if you want to synchronize your phone’s address book with your GMX contacts. Select Sync or Skip based on your personal preference. 🔔 Configuring Push Notification Settings

To ensure you receive instant notifications when an email arrives, adjust your alert settings within the application:

For Android Devices: Tap the Menu icon (three lines) → select Settings → tap your GMX Email Address → tap Notification settings for emails → toggle the sliders to adjust ringtones, vibration, or silent alerts.

For iOS Devices: Tap your Profile icon (top left corner) → scroll down and select Settings → tap Notification (Push) → toggle the notification switch to On. 💡 Core Features & Everyday Use

Compose an Email: Tap the green pencil symbol to start a new draft.

Delete Messages: Swipe an email to the left in your inbox to instantly delete it.

Refresh Inbox: Drag your finger downwards across the screen to check for new mail manually.

Search Messages: Tap the magnifying glass symbol and type keywords to find old threads.

Add a Security PIN: Go to the app settings to toggle a 4-digit PIN lock, safeguarding your messages if your phone is lost or stolen.

If you ever prefer to bypass the dedicated app and use a third-party application like Windows Mail, Thunderbird, or Apple Mail, you must first log into the desktop web version of GMX, navigate to Settings, choose POP3 & IMAP, and check Enable access to this account via POP3 and IMAP.
