Instant English & Portuguese translation in Microsoft Word is achieved through a powerful, built-in feature powered by Microsoft Translator. It requires no third-party installations, works directly inside your document, and seamlessly handles both European and Brazilian Portuguese. How to Use the Built-In Translator

Microsoft Word offers two distinct ways to translate content instantly via the Review tab. Both options require an active internet connection. 1. Translate a Selection (Words or Phrases) Best for short phrases, words, or individual paragraphs.

Highlight the specific English or Portuguese text you want to change. Click the Review tab at the top ribbon. Select Translate > Translate Selection.

A pane will appear on the right side of your screen. Word automatically detects the source language.

Choose your target language (English or Portuguese) from the dropdown.

Click Insert to replace the highlighted text, or copy the translation directly from the pane. 2. Translate the Entire Document

Best for multi-page documents while keeping your layout intact. Open your document and navigate to the Review tab. Select Translate > Translate Document. Choose your target language (English or Portuguese). Click Translate.

Microsoft Word will instantly generate and open an entirely new, translated document in a separate window. Your original file remains untouched. Comparison of Translation Approaches in Word
